More Monkey Business (by Rally Ranger)
CHICAGO – It has been a rough year for fourth-year quarterback Roy Dejesus (chimpanzee).
In the beginning of the new season, the former Texas Rambler had been cut from the team immediately after he threw a whopping five interceptions and fumbled another ball away in one game. He clearly was not happy about the situation.
“…I’m glad to be out of there.”
With the number of quarterbacks in the system as is, it had to take a while before he would be signed to another team. And fortunately that came in after week five when Chicago Outlaws’ Darius Smith was injured during their game against, believe it or not, the Texas Ramblers. Following the bye week, Dejesus found himself ready to play with the Outlaws to prove that the first week was not a fluke.
Things went okay until late in the fourth quarter, when DeJesus fumbled the ball on a sack during the Abilene game and had to be carried off the field. X-ray scans the next morning showed that his ankle had been sprained and that he would be sitting out for the next six weeks. Neither Dejesus nor his agent would comment on their plans going forward.
