Hello,
As Vice President of League Operations, it is my obligatory duty to inform members of the UFFL when there are necessary decisions that require a league vote. This is a Class I Vote, as specified by our League Constitution, and Class I Votes state:
"...Class I votes include major referendums, amendments to this document, expansion and alignment, and major disciplinary action. In this setting, each individual titled ‘Commissioner’ shall receive a total of four and only four votes, each individual titled ‘Vice President’ shall receive a total of three and only three votes, each individual titled ‘Chairman’ shall receive two and only two votes, and each individual titled ‘Owner’ shall receive one and only one vote. A two thirds majority will result in a determination of ‘pass’ while anything short of that will result in a failure of the measure."
As you may know, ryanr is currently contracted to manage the North Florida Renegades as a League-Owned Franchise. Under our approved Constitution, it states that League-owned Franchises are:
"... franchises which are owned by the League Office but contracted to private General Managers. Any GM who successfully manages a league owned franchise for a period no shorter than one year will be eligible to apply for ownership of that franchise pending approval in a Class I vote."
Despite multiple methods of contact, ryanr has neglected to respond to persons in Management and make the necessary adjustments to effectively manage his franchise. Examples of this include:
- Failure to communicate with the Commissioner (in any form)
- Failure to use or communicate updates for the North Florida roster
- Failure to use the appointed spreadsheet to effectively manage the team
- General lack of league participation (he has no players, Twitter feeds, or content tied to the UFFL)
While the fourth point is not required of a GM, the last known communication we have had with ryanr was his selection of draft picks in August. This makes it undeniably hard for league management and content creators to work with a GM. We realize that participating in a league like this is "for fun", and personal issues can prevent involvement ratings; we would hope that this would be communicated to Management if this was ever an issue. FurAffinity's note system tracks whether an individual has opened and read any note sent to them. We would like to note that ryanr has read both warnings sent to their account and has failed to take any action or indicate his status.
It is with this knowledge that we have decided that ryanr has neglected to successfully manage the franchise.
We are calling for each GM (minus ryanr) to vote based on the Class I Vote process. A 2/3 majority vote will effectively suspend ryanr from his GM duties. In addition, ryanr will not be able to participate as a GM at any point without a Class II vote in future seasons. This also includes any co-management positions.
The North Florida Renegades will remain a League-Owned Franchise through the end of the 2014 season and no less than Games 1-4 of the 2015 season. We will immediately seek a new GM upon passing of this vote.
In the event that an Owner or General Manager becomes vacant from their respective duties, the Commissioner may step in to temporarily manage the franchise or appoint some other individual to that position. During this period, the League reserves the right to executively manage the franchise to the optimal benefit of its players and fans.
